One product Arxxant will have to compete with is OM PHARMA’s Doxium (calcium dobesilate), which is available for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, and was shown in a two-year study to slow disease progression. The primary endpoint of posterior vitreous penetration ratio, measured by fluorophotometry in order to evaluate vascular leakage from the retina, showed a decrease of 13.2% in the Doxium group versus a 7.3% increase with placebo (p=0.002), whether the patients’ diabetes was well controlled or not.”…
