OM PHARMA on its way to the US market

June 14th, 2007. 70 years old in 2007 and still expanding in the biotech field, OM PHARMA signed last month a major contract with a North American company active on the urological and gynaecological markets. This company will contribute US$ 40-50 millions to conduct further clinical trials and developments with the immunostimulating drug Uro-Vaxom®. The introduction on the North American market of this original drug manufactured at OM PHARMA’s new state of the art biotech centre in Meyrin/Geneva, Switzerland, fully compliant with FDA standards, is planned for 2013.

Uro-Vaxom® is an extract of Escherichia coli, a germ responsible for the majority of urinary infections. It stimulates the immune system in order to increase the body’s natural defences against a wide spectrum of urinary pathogens. It prevents recurrent urinary tract infections, in particular cystitis and is already marketed in more than 30 countries.
