Presentation of Gynazole•1® at the XVIth Peruvian Congress of Obstestrics and Gynecology before its launching in Peru

The XVIth Peruvian Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology took place in Lima between February 5th and 9th 2007. During this event, Gynazole•1® was presented in a special symposium focusing on vaginal infections moderated by Dr Ciudad from OM PERU. Dr Gudeman from KV Pharmaceuticals (manufacturer of Gynazole•1®) highlighted the therapeutic properties of this cream containing butoconazole nitrate (2%) as active principle against vulvo-vaginal yeast infections and conveniently applied in a single dose with a pre-filled device. Dr Gotuzzo presented the epidemiological data of these infections while Dr Saona developed their clinical aspects.This disease entity constitutes indeed a painful and often recurring burden for millions of women as nearly 75% of them present at least one genital yeast infection in their lifetime. The Congress was attended by around 1000 health professionals and the presentation of Gynazole•1® was followed with great interest. Peru is the first country in Latin America where this anti-fungal is launched.
