OM PHARMA enters global agreement with GlaxoSmithKline on the vaccine adjuvant OM-174-DP
September 27th, 2007

OM PHARMA announced today an exclusive worldwide license agreement with GlaxoSmithKline for OM-174-DP, a lipid A derivative. The agreement includes the use by GlaxoSmithKline of OM-174-DP as adjuvant in the development of vaccines and the rights to market the final vaccinal products. OM PHARMA retains a right to produce the adjuvant OM-174-DP.

OM-174-DP is an agonist of toll-like receptor (TLR) functions with powerful immunodulating properties on the innate immune system, inducing maturation and migration of dendritic cells. It stimulates strong humoral and cellular immunological responses to peptide and protein antigens in animal models of vaccination, including Th1 as well as Th2 responses. It also has an advanced preclinical package with a good safety profile for use in humans with completed phase I clinical trials.

Under the terms of the agreement, OM PHARMA will receive an upfront payment followed by milestones and royalties.
